Katherine Linkletter – Jökulsárlón, Iceland
This lagoon was formed after the surrounding glacier began to recede in the 1940’s. Its still, milky blue waters are dotted with icebergs freshly broken off the glacier, numerous seals, and a large number of seabirds. You can hop on one of the numerous tour boats in the area to get an up-close view of the glacier and icebergs or sit quietly on the shoreline and watch these beauties slowly float by as they make their way out to sea.
