Charlottetown Airport is committed to making our facility as easy to use as possible for people with disabilities and special needs. Our airport is equipped with many features to allow for easy and independent travel throughout the terminal.
The Charlottetown Airport Authority is subject to the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (ATDPR) and its provisions.
Accessibility Inside the Airport
These services are available to all passengers:
- Accessible parking stalls
- Washrooms are equipped with grab bars and Life Call
- Braille washroom signage
- Airport staff trained in assisting persons in need
- Oversized, sliding doors equipped with motion detectors
- TTY public telephones
- Accessible check-in and information counters
Travelling with Service Animals
Service animals and guide dogs are welcome in our terminal.
The designated pet relief area is located outside in the grassy area adjacent to the Arrivals entrance/exit (groundside). Please dispose of your pet’s waste in the garbage cans provided outside the terminal building.
Your airline may have polices for passengers travelling with animals. Check with your airline as early as possible to find out about their specific polices and procedures.

Car rental agencies at the airport can arrange for hand-controlled vehicles, given 24 hours or more notice prior to the vehicle delivery time required.

Prearranged Special Needs Assistance
At the Charlottetown Airport, facilitating travel for people requiring assistance is a priority. To ensure availability, people with a special need may request assistance on a prearranged basis. A minimum of 36 hours notice is required. Please complete the form below to make your request.
Please note: Passengers who have requested assistance must arrive at or before the prearranged time in order to ensure that assistance is available. We strongly suggest that you also contact your airline ahead of time regarding any special needs.
