Charlottetown Airport Authority Partners with #NotInMyCity to Raise Awareness about Human Trafficking

Charlottetown, PEI – Charlottetown Airport Authority (CAA) is pleased to share that it is partnering with #NotInMyCity to help identify and put an end to sexual exploitation and human trafficking here in Canada.

CAA’s commitment includes staff participation in learning and training courses to help identify the signs of human trafficking, as well as organization‑wide awareness campaigns.

“At YYG Charlottetown Airport, safety and security are at the core of what we do. Partnering with #NotInMyCity is an important step in raising awareness about human trafficking and equipping our team with the knowledge to recognize and respond to potential risks,” said Doug Newson, CEO of Charlottetown Airport Authority. “We’re proud to support this initiative and to do our part in helping protect our community.”

“#NotInMyCity is proud to partner with Charlottetown Airport Authority in the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation,” said Paul Brandt, country music artist and founder of #NotInMyCity. “We all have a voice and the power to share the message that child sexual exploitation and trafficking are wrong and will not be tolerated.”

Human trafficking is one of the fastest‑growing crimes in Canada, with 93% of reported victims being Canadians trafficked domestically. These cases often go unnoticed and unreported due to manipulation, fear, threats from traffickers, shame, language barriers, or mistrust of authority.
