Porter Airlines Adding Jet Service to Toronto Pearson

Charlottetown, PE – The Charlottetown Airport Authority Inc. (CAA) is thrilled to announce that Porter Airlines is adding direct service between YYG Charlottetown Airport and Toronto Pearson Airport this summer.

The seasonal service starts June 13th, with four weekly roundtrips on Porter’s new, 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The service will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday until September 14th with connecting flights available to Porter’s growing network beyond Toronto Pearson.

This new route from Toronto Pearson also complements existing Porter service with the 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, featuring up to twice daily year-round service between Charlottetown and Ottawa.

“YYG Charlottetown Airport is excited to expand our service offerings with the addition of Porter Airlines jet service to Toronto Pearson, with connections to their growing network”, says YYG CEO Doug Newson. “This partnership will benefit both PEI residents and visitors alike, providing convenient access to explore our world-class tourism product during the peak summer season.”

“Porter has developed strong relationships with travellers in Prince Edward Island, who are benefiting from increased direct air service and connecting opportunities through our growing North American network,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines. “This new service to Toronto Pearson, Porter’s biggest hub, complements existing, daily service between Ottawa and Charlottetown. Passengers now have more opportunities to travel across the continent, all while enjoying Porter’s elevated economy experience.”

“We are thrilled to see Porter Airlines expand its services to include direct flights from Toronto Pearson to Charlottetown this summer,” said Honourable Zack Bell, Minister of Fisheries, Tourism, Sport and Culture. “This new route is an exciting opportunity for visitors to easily experience all that Prince Edward Island has to offer, while also providing greater accessibility for Islanders to connect with the world.”

Flights are now available for booking at www.flyporter.com and with travel agents.
